Win doubles tonight for Whitland & Llanrhian

 
Llanrhian and Whitland showed why they are currently in the top three of the B Division, with Pembroke A sandwiched neatly in between, and with both doing really well after having to forfeit matches earlier in the campaign because they were unable to field a team.
 
There were also excellent individual performances from St Ishmaels, Pembroke A and B, with organiser Sam Rossiter pleased with their developing skills and all involved continuing to enjoy the indoor game with a great approach to a sport they are clearly enjoying!

Whitland 71 for 1 (13)  beat Pembroke B 40 for 4 (1) by 31 runs

 
Whitland made an excellent start to their match with Pembroke B as openers Fflur Davies and Tegan Ryan took them to 54 despite good bowling by Nerys Evans and Summer Russant.
 
Fflur was in attacking mode as she retired having faced just nine balls and despatched two fours and a six in that short time – and she was comfortably ‘player of the match’ as she then claimed 2 for 4, including a maiden, to cause real problems for Pembroke, who lost Nirvana Thomas and Tracey White very early on before Summer Russant batted well to stroke two boundaries and remain not out.
 
Nerys Evans was the other Whitland wicket-taker as they won by a comfortable margin to show what a strong all-round team they are.

Whitland 84 for 2 (13) beat Pembroke A 64 for 2 (4) by 20 runs

 
Whitland completed the double over the Pembroke teams as they again batted first against Pembroke A and Fflur Davies blitzed 33 not out in her two visits to the crease in only nine deliveries, including two fours and two sixes, whilst Nerys Evans continued her good form with the bat and skipper Alys John also provided late runs in her not out innings after they had lost openers Louise Lancey and Tegan Ryan with 14 on the board as Jodie Lewis led the Pembroke attack well.
 
Jodie Lewis then joined Ginny Davies and Hollie Allen as the leading Pembroke batters as Tegan Ryan and Alys John were Whitland wicket-takers and helped make sure the opposition were never fully up with the required run rate to give Whitland another very good win.

St Ishmaels 39 for 4 (1) lost to Llanrhian 43 for 5 in 5.3 overs (13) by 3 wickets

 
St Ishmaels batted first against a strong and competitive Llanrhian side but found themselves in early trouble as Linzi Picton departed second ball and Charlie Causton and Tei Tallett soon followed to leave them on 15 for 3.
 
But solid batting by Rachel McGuire and Lucy Pattinson saw them reach 49 for the loss of only one more wicket as Amanda John and Katy Jenkins were the main strike bowlers for Llanrhian.
 
Llanrhian also had a dose of early nerves as they limped to 15 for 2 as they lost experienced batters Carrie Slack and Ceri Jensen but Tish hopes of a surprise success soon vanished as Gillian Robinson, Amanda John and  Katy Jenkins swung the game back in their favour, despite Linzi Picton bowling well for Tish, and needed only 5.3 overs to complete their victory.

Llanrhian 79 for 4 (12) beat Pembroke A 63 for 2 (5) by 16 runs

 
Llanrhian batted first against Pembroke A and had a solid all-round performance thanks to Gillian Robinson and Katy Jenkins before Carrie Slack and Amanda John remained undefeated in a healthy score from their allotted eight overs.
 
Jodie Lewis led the Pembroke reply with a quality quick-fire innings before she retired and Ginny Davies was also unbeaten at the end of their eight overs but Pembroke were never able to maintain the required run-rate but never gave up trying in an excellent match between two very useful teams who could by vying for places in the top echelon next season.
