Crymych go ahead in battle for second place

Crymych 29 - Tenby United 21

Matches between Crymych and Tenby United are traditionally hard-fought and this latest one was no exception and earned praise from one local pundit who told us,

“It was great to watch because it had high skill levels, pace aplenty and total commitment in both camps.”

The victors by 26-24 when the teams met at Heywood Lane were Crymych, who completed the double as they won 29-21 at Parc Lloyd Thomas as fortunes ebbed and flowed before the final verdict was reached.

The Young Seasiders eventually finished with three tries to their credit by Lewis Rossiter, Keane Williams and Jayden Allen, all converted by ace kicker Alfie Pryor.

The Crymych front row certainly featured as props Sior Phillips and Iwan Morgan scored tries, as did powerful hooker George Nelson, with others from replacement flanker Owen Fletcher and winger Aled Wyn Jones.

Owain Evans kicked two conversions to complete the Crymych scoring and give them their ninth win in 12 matches to virtually assure them of the runners-up spot behind Haverfordwest, whilst the Young Seasiders look certain to be in third place just behind them.

Big win for Young Otters as Young Scarlets never give up trying

Narberth 58 - Pembroke 7

Narberth are now fifth in the table after this maximum-point victory over Pembroke, who found it hard going but never gave up battling away - and next season will undoubtedly do much better after their experiences this campaign.

Lewis Jones scored the Young Scarlets only try and conversion as reward for the effort shown by second row Lewis Dennison, full back Ethan John, plus 16 year olds Sam Turner and Luke Evans on the wings.

Narberth sportingly loaned the powerful Tom Faletau to their opponents but it was The Young Otters who reigned supreme as they ran in ten tries, four of them converted by Ashton O’Riorden.

Ashton also grabbed a try alongside others by man of the match, full back Archie Griffiths, outside half Tom O’Toole, hooker Charlie Reynolds, second row Harry Brown, centre Owen Woofe, prop Morgan Crowe, and scrum half Ellis Phillips (2).

Coach Jason Jennings also gave Joe Rimmer, Tyla Beeken and Nathan Jenkins a mention, plus James Owen on only his second game after returning from injury - but he added that this was a total squad performance

Aber win well at Pill Parks against Gritty Young Wasps

Llangwm 19 - Aberystwyth 33

There was also action aplenty before Aberystwyth were good value for victory at Pill Parks over Llangwm after such a long trek down the Cardigan Bay coast road.

The Young Wasps are never easy to beat in front of their partisan home crowd and this match was no exception before Aber called upon their greater experience to claim all five points on offer.

In the final analysis Llangwm managed three tries from Kieran Sinclair (2) and Isaac Hitchings, two of them converted by Oscar Willington.

But The Mid Wales side, who had solid performances from second row Rhys Owen, flanker Deri Gwynn and second row Michael Whistance, had tries from blind-side flanker Harry Michelle, full back Steff Gillies, Steff Jones and replacement centre Daniel Davies (2), with outside half Jones also adding four conversions to round off a good all-round display by the Mid Walians!
