Chris takes on leadership of the Pembroke County team

Chris Shousha is captain of Pembroke County team

Charity Rugby:

When Chris Shousha received a surprise phone call last week to ask him if he would captain the Pembroke County team to play Valero in Saturday’s charity match the Fishguard & Goodwick skipper was delighted to accept.

He steps in for Jack Mason (Whitland), who led the county to victory in the previous match but has injured his hand, and told PembrokeshireSport.co.uk he regards it as a great honour.

Chris had been captain at The Moors for four years, including the gaps caused by Covid and enjoys working there with coaches Nathan and Steve Jenkins, whom he say typify the club’s ethos.

“I  played for Loughborough College and the town’s rugby teams when I was there taking my BSc degree in human biology and I now work in Health and Well Being at The Pembrokeshire College.

“Playing for the county means I’ll miss Friday night’s KO Cup game for the club at Whitland but coach Nathan told me it was such an honour to captain Pembrokeshire against  Valero that I should take the chance – and I’m thrilled to be involved!”
