Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League – Division 1

Neyland 1 – Hakin United 8

A young Hakin United outfit proved too strong for relegated haunted Neyland as they returned to the top of the table after this game was switched to Ysgol Caer Elen 3G pitch in Haverfordwest.

This was the only league game played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League as the rest of the programme suffered a washout.

The Vikings led 3-0 at half time, the Nomads pulled one back but the visitors added five further goals to move a point ahead of Goodwick at the top of the summit, but they do have four games in hand over the Vikings.

Ben Aldred’s long ball over the top led to the opener scored by Shane Walsh, Alfie Stotter added his side’s second as he latched onto another accurate long Aldred ball, just before the break, 16-year-old Tommy Powles scored a 35 yard screamer, what a way to score your first senior goal.

After the break Neyland pulled one back as central defender Sean Hannon headed home a Leo Power corner from inside the area.

However, Justin ‘Skinny’ Harding’s Vikings dominated as they scored five further goals, Luby’s pinpoint cross led to Stotter stooping for a far post header for the fourth.

Walsh bagged the fifth and sixth for his hat-trick as both were provided by assists by 16-year-old Corey Riley.

The lively Luby teed-up Stotter for the seventh, for his hat-trick then goal provider Luby finished off the scoring as he tapped-in the eighth from close range.
