West Wales Intermediate Cup – Quarter Finals
Tenby in the hat after easing past Wizards
Merlins Bridge 2 – Tenby 5
Tenby deservedly overcame dogged Merlins Bridge to reach the last four of this prestigious competition at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.
Last week Tenby disappointingly bowed out of the Senior Cup as they frustratingly lost on penalties at Clarbeston Road, however this week they were in good form as they dominated to comfortably breeze past their fellow first division opponents.
The Wizards won the West Wales Cup back in 2019, but any dreams they had of progressing ended as they trailed 3-0 at half time.
The Seasiders dominated the opening 45 minutes as Scott Ferney struck the opener with a sumptuous curling free kick on 24 minutes, Spencer Williams struck a superb second in the 37
th minute, just before half time Jacob Hipkiss was on target for his side’s third.
The Wizards mounted a serious come back as Hayden Dimond bagged two quick fire goals the latter from the spot which the striker emphatically despatched into the roof of the net, but the visitors moved up a gear and finished strongly with two late goals scored by substitute James Adhern and Ferney (his second of the tie) to complete the scoring.

Swifts win to reach semis
Ynystawe Athletic 2 – Monkton Swifts 3
Monkton Swifts won a five-goal thriller to dump West Wales Premier Ynystawe Athletic out of the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
The Swifts’ camp were delighted they have reached the semi-final stage and now they are just 90 minutes away from a possible trip to the final at the Swanseacity.com Stadium in May.
The hosts took the lead in the 25
th minute as Cai Owens scored but it was short lived as Dylan Davies quickly pounced on goalkeeper Jake Stephens’ handling error for the equaliser, following an excellent Ben Steele free kick in the box.
Two minutes after the break the Swifts took the lead as Liam Butland’s through ball allowed Billy Davis the space to rifle his shot in the top corner.
Special praise for old head Jimmy Walker who put in a man of the match masterclass performance which kept the Swifts on top.
Late in the game Paul Miller grabbed a crucial third, as he rounded keeper Stephens - but deep in stoppage time Josh Newman pulled one back for the Athletic, but full credit to the Swifts who remained firm for the remainder as they gained a famous cup win in Swansea.
Ynystawe Athletic: Jake Stephens, Jack Brooks, Jacob Rees, Callum Dougal (Captain), Mitchell Hancock, Ben James, Aidan Hughes, Rees Harries, Callum Chappell, Ashley Williams, Cai Owens.

Disappointed Goodwick bow out of the cup
St Josephs 4 – Goodwick United 1
West Wales Premier outfit St Josephs comfortably knocked out Pembrokeshire League champions Goodwick United to progress into the semi-finals.
Manager Chris O’Sullivan and his team must feel bitterly disappointed that they have bowed out of the Senior Cup and West Wales Intermediate Cup on successive outings.
However, you can’t take anything away from St Josephs who are currently sitting second place in the West Wales Premier, Goodwick can take some consolation that they are currently odds on favourites to retain the Division One title.
The hosts got off to a flyer as Jordan Lloyd-Evans bagged the opening goal after just two minutes.
In the 37
th minute the visitors equalised as Will Haworth teed-up Jonny Horgan, but on the stroke of half time the hosts regained the lead as Kyle Copp scored.
Midway through the second period the Swansea outfit scored a third through Ricky Kerr, in the 73
rd minute skipper Zac Brown was on target with a fourth which wrapped up proceedings.
