Robins relegated as Swifts claim victory

Paul Miller - scored and assisted for two goals for Monkton who won at Milford UnitedMilford United 0 – Monkton Swifts 4

It’s now confirmed following this defeat against Monkton Swifts at Marble Hall which sees Milford United  relegated from the top flight.

It was a sad day for Robins camp who now have to lift themselves quickly as they will take on derby rivals Hakin United in the Senior Cup Final next Saturday at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.

The Swifts’ fine league form continued as they currently sit third in the table just a point ahead of fourth placed Pennar Robins with both teams having two games left to play this season.

The visitors led 3-0 at the break, thanks to the influential Paul Miller who assisted for both the opening goals scored by Billy Davis and Liam Butland before Miller struck the third.

After the break skipper Ben Steele assisted for Jack Clarke who added the fourth to complete the scoring.

Nathan Greene - the striker scored the opener for champions Goodwick United who won at KilgettyKilgetty 0 – Goodwick United 3

Champions Goodwick United claimed a thoroughly deserved victory against Kilgetty at the Kingsmoor Ground.

Striker Nathan Greene headed home the opener on 13 minutes thanks to an excellent Will Haworth corner which created the goal scoring opportunity.

On 39 minutes the visitors added their second of the game when Luke Hayward’s free kick saw Haworth neatly glance his header past Kurtis Marsh.

Rhys Dalling was taken down inside the box in the 64th minute and referee Tudor Walters didn’t hesitate to point to the spot, up stepped Rhys Jones who confidently put it low to the keepers’ left for his side’s third goal.

In a couple of weeks’ time Goodwick will entertain Tenby in their final league game at Phoenix Park, manager Chris O’Sullivan is determined his team will do their utmost to remain unbeaten for the whole of the season which will be a remarkable achievement.

Goalless between Wizards and Vikings

Merlins Bridge 0 – Hakin United 0

Incredibly there were no goals scored in this keenly contested clash between arch rivals Merlins Bridge and Hakin United at the Pembrokeshire Sports Ground.

Scott Davies’ Vikings team possibly had an eye of saving themselves for the forthcoming Senior Cup Final against close neighbours Milford United, but in Mike Preddy’s Bridge outfit’s credit they were solid in defence limiting goal scoring chances for The Vikings.

For the visitors Mark Jones flashed a low drive inches wide also teenager Mason Dolling struck the side netting after beating Ben Henton at his near post.

Wizards’ boss Preddy was rightly proud of his teams overall performance claiming his players put their bodies on the line and they looked dangerous on the break - substitute Ben Davies beat the offside trap but he was pulled up for a contentious offside decision which could have seen them pinch victory.

Merlins Bridge: Ben Henton, Henry Thomas, Josh Silk, Nick Squire, Morgan Richards, Liam Manwaring, Dai Davies (Captain), Nathan Evans, Jason Griffiths, Harrison Goddard, Ashton Plunkett. Subs: Ben Davies, Florian Nash, Bradley Plunkett.

Hakin United: Gareth Fawcett, Leon Luby, Camron Thomas, Jay Power, Ben Aldred, Jay Power, Craig Nicholson, Mason Dolling, Jack Britton, Jordan Kilby, Ryan Wilson (Captain), Mark Jones. Subs: Justin Harding, Kieran King, Jack Griffiths.
