Vikings are two-good for Rooks

Hakin United stay in the title race with a hard fought two goal victory over Carew at the Gerald Hicks Memorial Ground.
 
Second placed Vikings are right on the heels of leaders Goodwick United and any slip up by the champions will see Scott Davies’ side eager to pounce.
 
Ryan Wilson broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when the skipper got on the end of a Shane Walsh cross to finish from close range.
 
On the stroke of half time came the goal of the game after goal scorer Wilson invited Alfie Stotter who struck a 25 yard cracker which flew in the roof of Jack Harries’ net.
 
Incredibly there were no further goals scored in the second period, but despite that fact it was the visitors who claimed their thirteenth win of the season.

Goodwick edge crucial win against Wizards

Goodwick United dominated this clash against arch-rivals Merlins Bridge but they didn’t have their scoring boots on at Phoenix Park.
 
Mike Preddy will be pleased his side kept the champions at bay for 90 minutes, but on the flip side opposite manager Chris O’Sullivan was not happy with his side’s finishing.
 
“We created loads of chances but didn’t take them. We must have hit the woodwork at least four to six times.”
 
The only goal of the game was scored in the 29th minute after Luke Hayward’s corner was met by Matty Delaney who powered home a six yard header.
 
This coming Saturday, Goodwick will entertain Cwmamman United in the West Wales Intermediate Cup, kick off is 1.45pm at Phoenix Park.

Tenby too strong for Herbie

As expected Tenby gained a comfortable ten-goal victory against rock bottom Herbrandston.
 
The visitors led 3-0 at half time before they added a further seven goals in the second period in a one-sided affair.
 
Scott Ferney, skipper Daniel Storer and Jerome Williams all found the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes.
 
Shortly after the interval Ned Davies added the fourth, shortly followed by Joe Leahy with the fifth, Ferney bagged the sixth, Leahy the seventh his second of the game, before Ferney drilled in the eight which gave the striker his second hat-trick on the trot.
 
There were two late goals as substitute Rhys Morgan and Jacob Hipkiss grabbed the ninth and tenth respectively.
