Chirpy Robins narrowly defeat The Road

Milford United 2 – Clarbeston Road 1

Milford United narrowly defeated Clarbeston Road to ensure they moved out of the relegation zone at Marble Hall.

A couple of minutes before the break The Road opened the scoring as Laurie Haworth crossed for Rhys Lloyd-Roberts who scored from six yards.

However, following a stern half time team talk by manager Steve Parks the Robins equalised two minutes after the break as Joey Jones’ cross from the left was met by Rhys Brown who made no mistake with a six yard finish.

Both sides tried to find an elusive winner and it was the Robins who got it in the 68th minute Ieuan Rutherford played a neat ball to Liam Davies who ran on, looked up and struck a superb 25 yard winner which crashed in the back of Rhys Mansell’s net.

As a results the Robins moved up to third from bottom a point clear of St Ishmaels six games of the season left to play.

Swifts narrowly beat Tish

St Ishmaels 1 – Monkton Swifts 2

Monkton Swifts gained an important slender win at St Ishmaels which moved them six points clear of the relegation whilst Tish moved into the dreaded drop zone.

The Swifts took the lead nine minutes before half time as Liam Butland assisted for Jonathan Lee to find the back of Owen Thomas’ net.

The second period was a tight affair until the 67th minute the visitors doubled their lead as Gareth Finnegan struck.

Two minutes from full time Brennan Devonald was involved for teammate Finley Armstrong who pulled one back, but it was a classic case of too little for battling Tish to get an elusive equaliser.
