Vikings defeat determined Carew

 

Hakin United 3 – Carew 1

 
Hakin United came through a tough test as they overcame a determined Carew outfit at the Obs.
 
Scott Davies’ Vikings took the lead in the 16th minute as Jack Britton’s well delivered corner from the left was volleyed home by skipper Ryan Wilson.
 
However, the visitors equalised in the 38th minute as a miss timed challenge inside the box by Mark Jones on Marcus Griffiths resulted in a penalty which the Rooks’ striker got up and dusted himself off before he comfortably tucked the ball past keeper Gareth Fawcett as it remained 1-1 at half time.
 
In the 77th minute the Vikings regained the lead as Mark Jones redeemed himself as he set up Shane Walsh who made no mistake with a neat near post finish.
 
In stoppage time the Vikings added a third as Jack Britton’s neat through ball fell to Alfie Stotter, the latter deftly chipped stand-in Rooks’ goalkeeper Scott Richards to complete the scoring.

Goodwick closing in on retaining the title

Will Haworth - bagged a brace for title seeking Goodwick United against KilgettyGoodwick United struck five goals without reply against 10-man Kilgetty as they are on the brink of retaining the title.
 
Chris O’Sullivan’s Goodwick outfit secured another three points as they are determined to win the title and the goal is to remain unbeaten, they need just one more win with three games left to play to secure the silverware.
 
The hosts scored two goals just before the break, Luke Hayward’s corner was headed on by skipper Scott Delaney and was finished with a neat overhead kick by Will Haworth.
 
Minutes later Goodwick added a second as Jonny Horgan’s corner was met with a firm Nathan Greene header.
 
In the 76th minute the visitors were reduced to ten men as Kyle Marsh received his marching orders from referee Neill Crawford for a second yellow card offence.
 
Goodwick took full control with the numerical advantage as Rhys Jones headed home a delightful Hayward corner.
 
Midfielder Jones’ free kick was parried by goalkeeper Kurtis Marsh which allowed substitute Kieran Blundell the opportunity to score from the rebound.
 
Four minutes from the end Haworth bagged his second of the match, as the wide sided midfielder headed home from another Jones set- piece which was parried by keeper Marsh.

Ben Adams - bagged five goals for Pennar Robins against HerbrandstonRelegated Herbrandston’s awful season has come to an end as Pennar Robins scored fifteen goals in a one sided affair.
 
The visitors led 7-0 at half time before they added a further eight goals to boost their goals for column.
 
Leading the scoring for Pennar was Ben Adams with five, the other scorers were Jack Jones 4, Cameron Brunton 3, and one apiece for Noah Davison, Nick Willis and Liam Williams.
 
Pennar Robins’ Craig Butland said shortly afterwards: “Massive respect to Herbrandston  for seeing out what has been a difficult season after their last game against us. Hats off to the management team as well as every player that’s put on the shirt – they should be commended for what they’ve done.”
