Clarbeston Road Football Club is the first Pembrokeshire Football League club to be awarded the insport Ribbon award.
Run by Disability Sport Wales, the insport award programme supports local authorities, clubs and sport governing bodies to provide sporting opportunities for disabled people.
Angela Miles, Disability Sport Development Officer for Pembrokeshire, was delighted to make the presentation to Clarbeston Road AFC. The club has worked in partnership with Cleddau Warriors since their inauguration over 11 years ago, providing coaches for the Warriors’ monthly training sessions.
Great partnership
Both clubs are looking forward to participating in a new project of integrated football.
The playing format will be the traditional 11 a-side version of the game and criteria will be put in place to ensure that six players per team on the field of play must have a disability.
This will assist the Warriors players in the progression of 5-aside football on small pitches to 11 a-side games on a full size pitch.
