Hakin United – Pen Pics:

Adrian Devonald

  1. ADRIAN DEVONALD: GOALKEEPER - 38
Coming out of retirement at the age of 38 and had a brilliant start to the season he was impactful in getting results back on track for Hakin. An unfortunate mid-season injury put him on the sidelines for 7-8 games and has had to watch on since but still an important part of the squad going forward.

Gareth Fawcett

  1. GARETH FAWCETT: GOALKEEPER - 35
Began the season as second team centre back before stepping in as replacement for ‘Devsy’. Has been vital in some of the Vikings most critical results this season and is a huge commanding presence at the back. No stranger to silverware as goalkeeper having won the Division 2 cup on the meadow only two seasons ago.

Camron Thomas

  1. CAMRON THOMAS: LEFT BACK - 23
Injury has hindered his football over the last 18 months but his drive and commitment to recovery has been incredible. An outstanding left back in both attack and defence with an engine as good as any.

Mark Jones

  1. MARK JONES: CENTRE BACK/LEFT BACK/CENTRE MIDFIELD - 36
Over the last 5-6 years Mark has been one of the most important and reliable players to the team and coaches. His adaptability can be to his detriment because although a quality centre midfielder - he often finds himself filling in for injured positions.  Has nursed himself through this season with numerous injuries but still gives the team 100% every week.

Keiran King

  1. KEIRAN KING: RIGHT BACK/LEFT BACK - 21
Keiran is having an outstanding season. He has turned into a brilliant footballer and important to the team - he can only get better and maybe progress further up the field as his career goes on. Currently one of the best full backs in the league and a strong runner going forward.

Henry Mayhew

  1. HENRY MAYHEW: RIGHT BACK - 16
An amazing story for Henry in the second half of this season. Graduating with so many other brilliant youngsters from Anthony, Jonathan, Nigel and Ben’s treble winning 16s team of 23/34 he has showed no fear coming into the first team initially as cover. He has only played 10 first team games which include two West Wales cup ties and 2 senior cup games, a quarter final away to Goodwick and a semi-final at the Meadow against Pennar. With bags of pace, energy and a great attitude on the pitch he has a bright future.

Jay Power

  1. JAY POWER: CENTRE BACK - 23
Given a huge honour in being Vice Captain for Hakin this season, and always a solid performer at centre back. A player with a huge passion and love for the club and shows it in his performances. He has become a physically strong centre back now and hugely important to the defence. A big future for him at Hakin.

Ben Aldred

  1. BEN ALDRED: CENTRE BACK - 27
After a good start to the season Ben had a setback, picking up a knee injury which sidelined him for 3-4 months. Since coming back into the side, he has been pivotal in our cup run to the Senior Cup final. A super-talented footballer with a huge amount of ability on the ball. Is a calming figure at the heart of the defence.

Jake Merry

  1. JAKE MERRY: CENTRE BACK / FULL BACK - 23
An ever consistent performer, a great communicator and organiser in the defence. Clever football brain and an outstanding ability to read the game. Has picked up an injury in recent weeks but is having one of his best seasons in a Hakin shirt.

Craig Nicholson

  1. CRAIG NICHOLSON: CENTRE MIDFIELD – 33
Re-signed mid-way through the season and is an excellent example of application in football to all youngsters coming through at the club. Had to bide his time in getting a run in the team but since getting it has showed his importance on the pitch. Technically brilliant in a tackle and has similar qualities to Jake in terms of communication and general organising on the pitch something that is often overlooked.

Jack Griffiths

  1. JACK GRIFFITHS: CENTRE MIDFIELD - 25
A lovely player in our midfield, a good eye for a pass and strong in the tackle. He has had to fill in for us in some unfamiliar positions but has shown a great determination to stay in a team full of good midfielders.

Jordan Kilby

  1. JORDAN KILBY: CENTRE MIDFIELD - 27
Summer signing Jordan has been a revelation in the midfield as a fast, energetic and dynamic midfielder. Has held his position down in an area of strength for us so huge credit to him. Been another hugely consistent performer and has an exemplary attitude in a brilliant first season at Hakin.

Jack Britton

  1. JACK BRITTON: CENTRE MIDFIELD - 30
At the heart of everything in the middle of our midfield again this season. Standards and level of performance very rarely drop which is a credit to him. Does a lot of selfless work for the team. Good motivator on the pitch and leads by example. A great thinking brain in the middle and an important cog of our team.

Ryan Wilson

  1.  RYAN WILSON: ATTACKING MIDFIELDER - 30
A great season for skipper Ryan this season with likely his highest goal and assist contribution of his career. Relished a more advanced role in the side, playing inside forward from the right and the left. Has been a brilliant captain and sets the example for the rest.

Alfie Stotter

  1. ALFIE STOTTER: ATTACKING MIDFIELDER / FORWARD - 26
A two-footed genius in our side, plays 10 and 9 comfortably and has the rare ability to win a game single handedly and in short spells of a match. A terrible injury early on in his season halted what was looking to be something special for him.  Coming back to fitness now at the right time for us.

Leon Luby

  1. LEON LUBY: RIGHT WING - 25
A constant menace and threat on the right hand side of our team, in a position that is slowly disappearing from the game. ‘Luby’ is a natural ‘winger’, bringing us width and a clear identity. Skilful and very pacey, he will always create chances in any game.

Mason Dolling

  1. MASON DOLLING: LEFT/RIGHT WING - 18
Mason is one of the old school winger style players.  With blistering pace and huge levels of stamina he is a massive prospect for the future for us. Unfortunate at the moment to have so many good players in his position but his time will certainly come.

Shane Walsh

  1. SHANE WALSH: WIDE FORWARD LEFT/RIGHT AND CENTRE FORWARD - 31
Hugely popular and respected player at Hakin. Is finally getting his recognitions as a quality striker, not someone who is seen as a hard worker or a journeyman. Scored some important goals again for us this season and his importance to the team can never been understated. Is a constant threat in all three positions across the front line.

Liam Parks

  1. LIAM PARKS: FORWARD - 22
‘Parksy’ has come into the Hakin side and adapted to our style of play brilliantly. His natural raw pace is something we have missed in recent times and he has showcased it in some big occasions already. Hopefully more to come from him!

 Ashley Bevan

  1. ASHLEY BEVAN: FORWARD - 33
Returned to the squad half-way through the season and has been stop-start due to work commitments. A huge player to have around on big occasions, a positive influence on the lads and a match winner! Brings something completely different to the front line in terms of strength and general nous of the game.

COACHES:

Scott Davies
  1. SCOTT DAVIES: MANAGER - 39
After playing for The Vikings for a long time, Scott cut his teeth as second-team manager for three seasons and was then in charge of the first team before taking a deserved rest last campaign. The Vikings achieved the double in his second year in charge as they beat Kilgetty 3-1 in the final but were prevented from taking part a year later because they were in the Welsh Cup and two other major competitions which saw them travel all over Wales and take on several semi-pro teams and losing 1-0 to Penlan in the West Wales Cup Final.
Now in his second spell at The Obs he has moulded together a  talented squad to gain a place in the final at The Bridge Meadow – where Scott’s footballing brain will be put to very good use.

 Anthony Mayhew

  1. ANTHONY MAYHEW: ASSISTANT MANAGER – 42
Been Scott’s No 2 since they started management together back in 2016 with the second team. A loyal and well-respected person who has given everything to the club over the years. Highly regarded youth coach with his treble success back in 2023/2024 season. Another excellent reader of play and a good tactician.

 Michael Cooper

  1. MICHEAL COOPER: COACH – 50
A new addition to Scott’s coaching staff this season; a man with a wealth of football knowledge and pitch experience. An excellent forward-thinking coach and super reliable too. ‘Coops’ won everything as a player for Hakin and very modest in his approach.

Alex Greenish

  1. ALEX GREENISH: FIRST AID – 34
Alex has long been involved at Hakin in some capacity; this his second stint in the current first team set up – whilst also managing and helping out with the second team along the way. A brilliant character to have around, no job is too big, very important to the team and his healing hands are very popular with the boys!!

Leigh Broome

  1. LEIGH BROOME: GOALKEEPING COACH – 35
‘Broomey’ has become an excellent addition over the years and has also become a great goalkeeping  coach. Willing to learn new things in his own time and also great to have around the team.
