Walsh uses his head in slender Hakin victory

Shane Walsh bagged a second half winner for Hakin United against battling Kilgetty at the Obs.
 
The visitors put up a decent showing against the Vikings, manager Scott Davies was without a few key players such as Alfie Stotter, Jack Britton, Jay Power, Ben Aldred, who are all currently side lined with injuries. But there was one bonus as Camron Thomas came off the bench in the second half following a lengthy spell out with a knee injury.
 
However, Kilgetty did not give their opponents an inch as they battled for every scrap of possession making life difficult for the Vikings.
 
As all good teams have in their locker they always seem to find a way of claiming victory when things are not quite right, at the end of the day Kilgetty will probably have felt they deserved to get something from this tussle.
 
In the 54^th minute the Vikings finally broke the deadlock as Leon Luby’s corner was half cleared straight to Ryan Wilson, the latter lofted in another terrific cross in the box which Walsh glanced a header in the far corner of Kurtis Marsh’s net – much to the relief of the frustrated Hakin fans.

Clarby win to do league double over Wizards

 

Clarbeston Road 5 – Merlins Bridge 0

 
Ben John and Laurie Haworth scored a brace each as Clarbeston Road gained a comfortable victory against Merlins Bridge.
 
Clarby have gained maximum points against close neighbours Merlins Bridge as they only met each other last week which they also won 4-1.
 
The hosts got off to a dream start as Matt Griffiths set-up Ben John, the striker made no mistake in the fifth minute.
 
Midway through the first period Jake Wesley assisted for Laurie Haworth who scored his side’s second.
 
After half time Clarby continued to control matters and were rewarded in the 53^rd minute as Haworth bagged his side’s third for his second of the game.
 
Not to be outdone John bagged the fourth which was also his second of the game, late on Matthew Griffiths added a fifth for a thoroughly well deserved victory over the Wizards who will have to go back to the drawing board as they look to improve.

Tenby hit Robins for six

 
 

Milford United 1 – Tenby 6

 
Ten man Tenby came from behind to secure a comfortable victory against Milford United at Marble Hall.
 
This result sees Tenby third in the table while the Robins are perched in sixth place.
 
The visitors scored three goals in each half, four of them assisted by the dangerous Jerome Mansbridge who caused havoc all afternoon, striker Scott Ferney benefitted as he bagged a brilliant hat-trick.
 
Anthony Hubbuck opened the scoring early, but the visitors soon found their stride as they hit back with goals by Joe Leahy, Scott Ferney and Daniel Storey to lead 3-1 at half time.
 
Shortly after the break the visitors were reduced to ten man as skipper Storer received a straight red card from referee Dean Driscoll.
 
Livewire Ferney scored two quick-fire goals and substitute James Ardern was on target with the sixth.

Goodwick edge victory at courageous Monkton

 

Monkton Swifts 2 – Goodwick United 3

 
Champions Goodwick United picked up a hard fought victory against ‘up for it’ Monkton Swifts.
 
This wins sees Goodwick remain two points clear at the top of the table whilst the Swifts are positioned mid table.
 
The Swifts too the lead as Liam Butland’s low cross was swept home by Dylan Davies from six yards. On the stroke of half time the visitors levelled matters as Luke Hayward’s corner was powerfully headed home by skipper Scott Delaney.
 
Two minutes after the break the visitors took the lead as midfielder Jake Smith made good ground as he unselfishly set-up Rhys Dalling who made no mistake from close range.
 
However, the Swifts immediately squared matters Dylan Davies’ well weighted through ball saw Billy Davis slid it past on rushing keeper Nick Jones.
 
Chris O’Sullivan’s Goodwick men dug deep and like all good teams they found a way to win which came in the 68^th minute as Jonny Horgan’s neat cut back found Will Haworth who struck from inside the six-yard box to break the courageous Swifts’ hearts.

Wilkes hat-trick sees Pennar claim big win

Herbrandston difficult season back in the top flight continued as they suffered yet another heavy defeat this time at the hands of Pennar Robins at Bush Camp.
 
Starring for the Robins was Jamie Wilkes who netted at hat-trick also Cameron Brunton scored twice to help the hosts to a comfortable victory as they currently sit fifth in the table as Herbie are bottom without a point,
 
The Robins led 5-1 at half time, Wilkes scored the opener, Brunton the second, Noah Davison, Sam Southcott and Wilkes found the target plus Adam Whatling scored the visitors only goal.
 
After the break substitute Jack Jones added the sixth and Brunton and Wilkes added further goals to complete the scoring.

Battling Tish defeat Carew

 

St Ishmaels 4 – Carew 3

 
St Ishmaels picked up their second successive win as they overcame Carew in an end-to-end clash.
 
The Rooks led 2-1 at the break, but Tish fought back to claim victory at the final whistle.
 
Skipper Sonny Phillips set-up team-mate Gareth Lewis who opened the scoring for Carew, it was short lived as Ieuan Hawkins supplied a scoring pass to Joel Mills who levelled matters.
 
The Rooks restored their one goal advantage as Marcus Griffiths made no mistake from the spot.
 
Two minutes after the break Tish equalised through Thomas Williams, a minute later Hawkins pounced that gave Tish the lead, soon after Adam Kingsbeer found the back of the net as the hosts led 4-2.
 
Leon Davies set-up Marcus Griffiths who pulled one back, for his second of the game, but the Rooks failed to find an equaliser as they drop down to second from bottom in the table, as Tish leap frog them.
