Vikings are too hot for derby rivals Robins

Milford United 0 - Hakin United 5

Ryan Wilson - Hakin United skipper put in a man of the match performanceHakin United eased to a comfortable five-goal victory against Hakin United at Marble Hall on Saturday afternoon in the only game played in the top flight as the other top teams were involved in West Wales Intermedtiate Cup ties.

The Vikings have taken the opportunity to close the gap to within a point of leaders Goodwick United who have a game in hand, with this five-goal salvo performance. Not only a good result but the Vikings will be happy they kept a clean sheet.

Hakin’s skipper Ryan Wilson put in a man of the match performance with another industrious central midfield performance as the skipper led by example as he assisted two goals and also found the back of the net.

Justin Harding set-up co striker Shane Walsh for an early opener following a goalmouth scramble, just ten minutes later the Vikings grabbed a second as Leon Luby put in  Ryan Wilson who delightfully chipped Robins’ goalkeeper Charlie Malloy.

After the break Scott Davies’ team continued to control matters and were rewarded in the 57th minute when Wilson’s pinpoint cross was met by a clinical far post header by Walsh for his second but his side’s third goal.

Substitute Callum Stannett made an impact as he bagged two further late goals in the 71st and 88th minutes.

Stannett headed home Jack Britton’s corner, again Wilson the provider assisted for the substitute who drilled home from ten yards, putting the shine on an excellent win against derby rivals Milford United.

Next Saturday, 9th November, Hakin United entertain West Wales Premier outfit West End in the West Wales Intermediate Cup, round two, at the Obs, kick-off 1.30pm.
