Venue: Neyland Community Hub
There were two outstanding batting performers on Thursday evening as Kim Barnes was undefeated in Pembroke’s two matches and Pam Asson did the same for Llangwm, which pleased son Toby, who doubles up as the team coach! In Kim’s case it helped earn Pembroke their first-ever two wins on the same night but for Pam it was the opposite as newcomers Llangwm missed out on both occasions!
Anyway, both ladies deserve a pat on the back - SO WELL DONE KIM AND PAM!
Match One:
Llangwm 88 for 4 (2) lost to Pembroke 90 for 1 (15) by 5 wickets

Coincidentally, Pembroke and Llangwm met in the first game and Llangwm batted first as Pam was joined by Natalie White and Ruby Woods in a promising start that was helped by Pembroke conceding 16 extras as they used all eight of their overs.
For Pembroke, Summer Russant and Bobby Neale were the only wicket-takers as Llangwm failed to score off only12 balls as they managed one four and 16 threes in their total.
But Pembroke ruined any chances of a Llangwm win as openers Bobby Neale and Ms Barnes put on 50+ for the first wicket before they had to retire, before Karen Evans and Summer finished the challenge off, assisted by 24 extras as only Natalie White managed to claim a wicket and the Pembroke winning tally included two fours and 16 threes.
Llangwm Innings: Pam Asson 27*, Natalie White 14, Ruby Woods 14, Extras 23. Summer Russant 1-18, Bobby Neale 1-24.
Pembroke Innings: Kim Barnes 27*, Bobby Neale 26*, Extras 24. Natalie White 1-21.
Match Two:
Hook 78 for 1 (14) beat Llangwm 75 for 3 (1) by 5 wickets
A measure of how much Llangwm have improved could be gauged from the fact that they managed to push current champs Hook all the way before missing out in Hook’s successful late run chase.
Pam Asson was again to the fore when Llangwm batted first, assisted by a cameo from Ruby Woods and a massive 33 extras, which currently seems to be a problem for Hook before they are due to play other title contenders in next week’s final fixtures.
Beth Chapman claimed 1 for 16 and Maisy Davies in particular showed how it should be done by conceding just a single, including a maiden over in the process.
WELL DONE MAISY!
But then Hook’s powerful batting line up switched into action as Kate Farr and Jemma Phillips started really well before the former was bowled and the latter batter retired.
It was left to talented teenager Maddie Potter and experienced team captain Sam Rossiter to hit off the remaining runs as they finished in only 6.4 overs - but Llangwm also deserved credit for the fact that they only conceded eight extras!
Llangwm Innings: Pam Asson 26*, Ruby Woods 11, Extras 33. Maisy Davies 1-1 (2 overs), Bethan Chapman 1-16.
Hook Innings: Katy Farr 15, Jemma Phillips 25*, Maddie Potter 15*, Sam Rossiter 15no. Zoe Brick 1-21.
Match Three:
Pembroke 83 for 4 (13) beat Burton 82 for 1 (4) by 2 wickets

Kim Barnes again featured for Pembroke with some smashing stroke play as they caused something of a surprise as they gained a surprise win over a very experienced Burton team.
Batting first, Burton lost only won wicket in their eight overs after Finola Scale and Rhiannon Morgan put on almost 60 runs and Olivia James was also not out in her comeback from injury, with a four included as she faced just six balls.
In the Pembroke bowling attack, it was Summer Russant and especially Jodie Lewis who caught the eye with tight spells.
Jodie Lewis also batted well as she rapped three fours before getting out early on but although Pembroke lost a few wickets they had 16 extras added to their score and it was Kim Barnes who saw them home in her two spells at the crease as she stroked two boundaries in her unbeaten innings, which was completed in only 19 balls and with two balls left in hand.
Burton Innings: Finola Scale 26*, Rhiannon Morgan 29*, Olivia James 12*. Jodie Lewis 0-8.
Pembroke Innings: Kim Barnes 39*, Jodie Lewis 14, Extras 16. Yazmin Kiff 1-12, Rhiannon Morgan 1-27.
