Senior Cup fever gripped Pembrokeshire football on Saturday

The Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League Senior Cup first round took place on Saturday, and there were not too many shocks.

Camrose lost 2-1 in extra time at home to Lawrenny. Lewis Watts scored for the homesters while Dean Morris netted for the visitors as if finished 1-1 at full time, and Jon Beff scored the winner in the extra time period.

Carew won 2-1 against St Clears, James Hinchliffe and Shaun Whitfield (penalty) scored for The Rooks, while Johnny Thomas bagged the visitors’ solitary goal.

Clarbeston Road comfortably won 5-2 at home against Letterston. A brace each for Richard Bevan and Jason Griffiths and Raff Barnett secured the Road’s safe passage.

Holders Goodwick United thumped Angle 6-1 at Phoenix Park. Johnny Horgan scored a brilliant hat-trick alongside a brace by Adam Raymond and a good strike from Ben John.

Hakin United won 4-2 in a derby clash with Milford United. The Vikings’ goal scorers were James Stanmore (2), Nicky Woodrow and Ben Steele, whilst Liam Parr and an own goal for the visitors.

Mike Beynon scored all the goals for Kilgetty in their 4-3 win at home against Fishguard Sports.

Lamphey trounced Herbrandston 7-3 at home. Sam Southcott (2), Mikey Davies (2), Billy Davies, Josh Dearsley and Rhys Griffiths found the back of the net for the homesters, with Gareth Howells, Adrian Rees and Jason Clarke scoring for the visitors.

Llangwm lost 0-5 at home to Tenby, Jordan Richards (2), Sam Christopher (2) and Nathan Patterson hit the back of the net.

Monkton Swifts won 4-0 at home against Johnston with Michael Groves and Ben Adams scoring a brace apiece.

Neyland lost 1-3 at home against West Dragons, Geraint Rees gave The Nomads the lead, but the Dragons hit back with goals by Scott Crawford, Dorian Davies and Paul Jones.

Prendergast Villa won 4-0 at home against Milford Athletic, bagging the goals for The Villa were Gareth Richards (2), Matthew Fox and Shaun Phillps.

Pennar Robins were leading 3-0 against Pendine when the match was abandoned.

Solva narrowly won 2-1 at home against Saundersfoot Sports. Max Fulthorpe and Joe Elliott scored for the home outfit and Chris Milward netted for the visitors.

St Florence lost 3-7 at home against Pembroke Boro; the visitors’ danger man was Phil John scored five goals alongside solitary efforts by Kieran Walton and Lee Kenniford.

Division Two St Ishmaels caused an upset with a 4-2 win at home against Division One Narberth. Adam James, Daniel Flynn, Brennan Devonald and Lewy Davies netted for Tish, whilst Carl John and Dylan Davies scored for The Bluebirds.
