Ollie’s off to Lithuania with Welsh hockey squad
Pembrokeshire’s very talented young hockey player Ollie Wheeler was delighted to recently receive confirmation of his selection for the Wales U21's Hockey squad to travel to Lithuania for the U21's European competition.
Having played well in Glasgow in a three match series against Scotland U21's two weeks ago it has been a nail biting few weeks for Ollie waiting to hear if he was selected for the squad.
With lots of competition and being one of the youngest in the mix, and with some England-based players being brought in after having found they have Welsh Ancestry, he and his parents, Jane and Bernie, are delighted he has been selected.
So it’s off to Vilnius in Lithuania, having been there once before at an U16's European Championship, a nice place in the summer, and a venue where they have great facilities which will further enhance Ollie’s ambitions to go to the top of Welsh Men’s hockey!.
