Junior tournament at ChelseaTHE TOURNAMENT

The eight team tournament will consist of two groups of four with the top two teams from each group going through to the semi-finals and the remaining teams will play off against each other to determine a final placing.

So, lots of football to be played and every game will be played on the actual pitch at Stamford Bridge. Playing on the pitch is just a part of the experience for the boys as they will spend two nights in a London hotel and they will have their own coach to and from the stadium.

At Stamford Bridge, the boys will have a Stadium tour and get to walk out through the tunnel onto the pitch for their first game. Every child will have a Chelsea medal regardless of where the team finishes. The boys are no strangers to these type of occasion’s having previously played at Carrow Road, Norwich City and the King Power Stadium, Leicester City and did well on both occasions.

 STAMFORD BRIDGE

Stamford Bridge first opened in 1877 and Chelsea are one of only a few clubs to play at the same stadium since they were formed. It has been redeveloped over the years into a 40,000 all seater stadium and with its hotels, restaurants, megastore, offices and residential buildings, it is one of the most modern stadiums in the Premier League.

SQUAD

Pembrokeshire Schools Under 12s have entered two teams into the tournament and several schools in Pembrokeshire have had children selected for the squads with Haverfordwest High being the most represented.

THE COACHES

Matthew Price, Mikey Loveridge and Niall Kinsella make up the coaching team and there is a wealth of experience there. At Chelsea, Mikey Loveridge will coach one team and Niall Kinsella will coach the other with Matthew Price being the overall person in charge making sure that everything runs smoothly over the weekend.

Matthew Price told Pembrokeshire Sport: “We are all very excited about this one. At Pembrokeshire Schools FA we strive to give the boys the best football experiences as they grow up. However, it all comes at a cost and we would like to thank all of our sponsors for making this possible with a special mention to Minster Diesel Services, Pure Waters Window Cleaning and Rising Stars who have sponsored a new kit for the boys to wear at Chelsea.”
