Adam John scored a superb brace for Hakin United at Phoenix Park

 

There were six games played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League and a Senior Cup quarter final completed on Saturday.

Adam John scored a superb brace for Hakin United at Phoenix ParkStarting with the match of the day at Phoenix Park, Adam John gave the Vikings the lead before Adam Raymond equalised with a late penalty, but there was more late drama when Adam John scored a late stoppage time winner for The Vikings, the final result was Goodwick United 1 Hakin United 2, incredibly this was the visitors eleventh straight league win on the bounce, and they have gone top of the table on better goals difference but have the same points as second placed West Dragons, the also Vikings have three games in hand.

Carew’s impressive form continued as they hammered Narberth 5-0 at home, scoring for the high-flying Rooks were Jordan Richards with a stunning hat-trick, with Iwan Izzard and James Hinchliffe netting one apiece.

Johnston’s poor form continued as they were heavily beaten 0-6 at home against Neyland. Scott Jones grabbed a brilliant hat-trick alongside goals for Wayne Parry, Henry Durrant and Nathan Warlow.

There was an incredible high-scoring affair at Monkton Lane where Monkton Swifts beat Tenby 8-6. The Swifts’ scorers were James Russell (2), Alan Jones, Ryan Griffiths, Tom Baldry, Martyn Carroll, Matthew Davies and Tom Powell, the Seasiders scorers were brothers Sam Christopher (5) and Jack Christopher.

Second from bottom Pennar Robins gained a crucial 5-2 win at home against third from bottom Milford United at Bush Camp. Finding the back of the net for the homesters were Carl Rees with a magnificent hat-trick and a goal apiece for team-mates Phil Thompson and Connor Rees. The visitors’ goals came in the form of Levi Jones and Josh Smart.
 
West Dragons defeated Lamphey 3-1 at home, centre back Simon Gilderdale netted a rare brace and striker Scott Crawford found the back of the net for the high flying Dragons, Josh Sture scored a consolation goal for the visitors.

In the Senior Cup quarter final played at the Racecourse Merlins Bridge won 4-0 against second division close rivals Prendergast Villa. Striker Joe Leahy scored a superb hat-trick and Will Haworth also hit the target for the Wizards. Merlins Bridge will now meet Hakin United in the semi-final on the Bridge Meadow.
