Crymych Panthers supply half the Welsh team for UK Championships
Boccia News:
Congratulations to the talented boccia players at Crymych Panthers because they have recently received the great news that four of their members have been selected out of the eight competitors who will take on their counterparts from Scotland, Northern Ireland and England in the United Kingdom Championships, which are soon to be held at Largs, an hour’s drive from Glasgow in Scotland.
Rachel Bailley, who hails from Narberth) and Sian Jones (Goodwick) attended the championships last year, when they were held in Coventry, whilst for Ioan Williams (Milford Haven) and Lewis Crawford (Pembroke) it will be a first appearance at the UK Championships, although all four have already shown their skills and determination in Welsh Championships, where they have done really well.
Small wonder then that Angela Miles, who is the head coach at Crymych Panthers, is delighted by their selection – and she will be joining them in Largs because she has also been selected – as team manager.
“We at The Panthers are delighted because all four not only have talent but link it to hard work and commitment at our weekly training sessions at the Sports Village at Haverfordwest High School – and our once-a-month sessions at the training camps held by the West Wales Boccia Association.
“All four are also lucky to have wonderful support from their families, some of whom will be making for Scotland to cheer us on – and share their sons and daughters taking centre stage at this high level.”
We at PembrokeshireSport.co.uk can only wish Angela and her young charges every success and will be honoured to let you know how they get on in flying the Pembrokeshire Sporting Flag with distinction in Largs!
