Cresselly power to the top in an entertaining tussle against Kilgetty

Cresselly (271 for 5) beat Kilgetty (203 all out) by 68 runs

Umpires: Trefor Evans & Richard Scriven
Scorers: Selwyn Cole & Hazel Poole

Dan Cherry 36 not out for CressellyThere were runs galore at Cresselly as the home side amassed a huge tally of 271 for 5 before Kilgetty showed true grit in giving chase before eventually being dismissed for over 200 runs with a side missing several key players.

Cresselly's score owed much to the quality batting of Dan Sutton (51), Adam Chandler (64), Iwan Izzard (53), Alex Bailey (34), Dan Cherry (36 not out) and Phil Williams (24 not out) as Kurtis Marsh claimed 1 for 47 and Liam Cullen showed he is more than a superb footballer with Swansea City with an excellent bowling spell that gave him figures of 4 for 63.

Cullen also featured with the bat as he contributed 44 to the Kilgetty cause as Kurtis Marsh (67), Ross Hardy (21), Kyle Marsh (33) and Anthony Lewis (14) were the other main scorers - but Dan James (2 for 25), Sion Jenkins (4 for 39, Ryan Lewis (1 for 27) and Iwan Izzard (2 for 30) claimed the wickets that gave Cresselly a deserved victory.

High drama before Lawrenny edge home

St Ishmaels (195 all out) lost to Lawrenny (196 for 9) by 1 wicket

Umpires: Denis Chiffi & John Williams
Scorers: Wendy Bradshaw & Malcolm Thomas

Peter Bradshaw - 73 in vain for TishThere was high drama at St Ishmaels as visiting Lawrenny chased down Tish's good score of 195 all out with their last pair at the crease and in their final over - but with one over 'presented' by the home team still in hand.

Tish's tally owed much to veteran run-maker Peter Bradshaw, who had six boundaries in his 73, with other useful knocks by Harry Nicholas (41), Phil Cockburn (13) and Brennan Devonald (29 not out) against the bowling of Rob Williams (2 for 29), Harry Thomas (1 for 37), Brad McDermott-Jenkins (3 for 39) and his dad Ian Jenkins (3 for 45).

Lawrenny's assault on this target owed much to the fact that ne fewer than nine batsmen made contributions. Led by Harry Thomas (35) and skipper Joe Kidney (31 not out), plus James Phillips (15), Phil Cole (13), McDermott-Jenkins (15), Simon Cole (20), Patrick Elliott (10), Ryan Morton (20) and Rob Williams (20).

Wickets fell quite regularly to Tish's Andrew Palmer (1 for 35), Andrew Williams (1 for 22), Andrew Pawlett (4 for 37) and Daniel Flynn (3 for 69) but Kidney held out well to give the visitors a welcome win.

The Town wins Pill Parks' run fest

Llangwm (234 all out) lost to Haverfordwest (255 for 6) by 4 wickets

Umpires: Steve Blowes & Tony Waldeis
Scorers: Janice Brick & Jayne Cole

Richard Brock - sparkling 88 runs for LlangwmThere were runs galore at Pill Parks as Haverfordwest successfully answered Llangwm's challenge to beat their total of 234 with four wickets and almost four overs in hand.

Llangwm did well to reach such a large total after early innings by Noah Davies (15), James Venables (130, Matthew Kiff (25), Joseph Kiff (20) and Luke Brock (17) had seen them to 100 for 6 before Richard Brock and Iwan Griffiths launched a successful counter-attack before the latter departed for 25 - and Brock smashed five fours and nine huge sixes in his sparkling innings of 88.

But with regular run getter Simon Holliday joining Ben Field (27) in an opening stand of 57 he Town were soon on their way to a big score as Lee Summons (32) also helped Holliday put on another 85 runs before 'The Doc' sustained a calf injury that forced him to have a runner before he was adjudged lbw on 92 to Llangwm skipper Ollie Davies as part of a 4 for 45 spell.

There was still almost 50 runs for The Town to score but Jake Merry  (23) and Adam James (22) were up to that task and helped their team win an entertaining match where Phil Llewelyn and Matthew Kiff were the other Llangwm wicket takers.

Neyland lose their lead at the top against quality play by The Borderers

Whitland (148 for 4) beat Neyland (145 for 7) by 6 wickets

Umpires: Arthur Brady & Dave Brandon
Scorers: Ann-Marie Jenkins & John Laugharne

Dylan Blain - half century for Whitland in win over NeylandAfter six wins on the trot to comfortably lead the race for the section silverware, Neyland lost for the second Saturday in succession as Whitland were great value for victory as they had six wickets and over 11 overs in hand when stumps were drawn.

Put in to bat, Neyland struggled to 122 for 7 before adding another 23 runs late on, but the general feeling was that it could be reached by a strong Whitland batting line-up - and that was the way it turned out.

Neyland opener Paul Miller was again the lynch-pin of their innings with 45 alongside Patrick Bellerby (21), Andrew Miller 17, Sean Hannon (19 not out) and Geraint Rees (10 not out) but tight bowling, supported by excellent fielding, kept them to their disappointing total against Matthew Davies (3 for 35), Wayne Howells (3 for 34) and Iestyn Scourfield (1 for 30).

Whitland started well with an opening stand of 43l via Geraint Jones (24) and Dylan Blain, who then shared another key partnership of 70 with Steff James before getting out on 56 - but James showed his worth to his club with 44 not out despite the Neyland bowling efforts of Andrew Miller (1 for 24), Henry Durrant (1 for 25) and skipper Sean Hannon, who handed the gloves to Paul Murray at the drinks' break and grabbed 2 for 24 as Murray also claimed a stumping as the bright spots as Neyland drop to third place in the race for the title.

Fastest finish of the day at Oatfield Park

Burton (80 for 1) beat Johnston (76 all out) by 9 wickets

Umpires: Simon Richards & Mervyn John
Scorers: Dennis Venables & Gracie Morris

Johnston tail-ender Hafiz Farouk is bowledBurton easily won their local derby against Johnston as they dismissed the opposition for 76 and then took only 12 overs to reach their target for the loss of Toby Hayman's wicket.

That the match lasted as long as it did owed much to Johnston's No 10 batsman Hafiz Farouk, who arrived at the crease with his side having been in trouble at 16 for 5 and then 28 for 8 as Richard Jones, Morgan Scale and especially Martin James took terrific catches in support of Burton bowlers James Scale (6 for 25), bowling as well as ever at 52 years of age,  James Davies (1 for 24), Morgan Scale (2 for 14) and newcomer Dillen McGaffin (1 for 12).

But they were made to pay for dropping Farooq early in his innings and he struck two fours and a big six before he fell to Morgan Scale as he helped Johnston add 48 runs for the loss of their last two wickets.
But then Burton started with a bang as Richard Jones and Hayman hit 30 from the first three overs and Jones smashed ten fours and a six in his 54 not out and Martin James added an undefeated 17 to round off  an easy win in style for the home club.

Whitfield stars as Carew keep winning

Saundersfoot (194 for 8) lost to Carew (195 for 5)

Umpire: Les Hastings
Scorers: Adge John & Julie Davies

An excellent all-round performance by Shaun Whitfield helped Carew maintain their winning streak to the top of the division two table at the expense of a Saundersfoot team that set a sizeable target – but such is the current form of Whitfield and co that Carew still had 5.4 overs in hand when they maintained their 100% record.

Saundersfoot skipper Sam Franklin maintained his excellent start to the season at home to Carew as he rapped top score of 62 (six fours and two sixes) and had support from Paul Mansbridge ((25) and son Tom (13) before Gareth Edwards ((25) and Yannik Parker (45) launched The Seasiders to a challenging total despite the bowling efforts for Carew of  Whitfield (4 for 37), Tom Davies (1 for 55), Rhys Davies (2 for 40) and Ceri Brace (1 for 55).

Carew were provided with a solid platform after tea thanks to Tom Scourfield (29) and his namesake Nick (27), plus Scott Richards (16) but then Whitfield was joined by Max Brindley in a stand of 118 where Brindley ended up on 36 not out and Whitfield smashed a boundary-laden 69 despite the bowling efforts of John Mansbridge (2 for 51), Franklin (1 for 33) and Neil Powling (2 for 44).

Narberth hang on for battling draw

Narberth (146 for 8) drew with Cresselly 2nds (158 for 8)

Umpires: Richard Merriman & Huw Davies
Scorers: Emma Richards & Des Brace

Richard Harris - another strong all-round performance for Cresselly Seconds at NarberthThere was a nervous climax to the game at The Lewis Lloyd Ground before Narberth’s innings ended with them still 11 runs short of the target set by Cresselly Seconds but with two wickets still in hand.

For Cresselly, Richard Harris showed the class that has earned him recognition at several different Welsh categories, scoring a steady 19 but then bowling so well that he had seven maidens in in his 12 overs, which produced figures of 3 for 16.

Matthew Lewis (26), Sam Harts (27), Lyn Richards (17), Billy Kinnear (16) and Steffan Jenkins (16) were the other run-getters for Cresselly against Ben Quartermaine (2 for 29), Lewis Hough (2 for 35), Loui Davies (1 for 40), Ben Hughes (1 for 33) and Matthew Johns (1 for 26) as Cresselly ended their 45 overs on 158 for 8.

Jordan Howells top-scored for Narberth with 33 not out, assisted by Lewis Hough (29) Kyle Quartermaine (22), Ben Hughes (20), Richard Adams (11) and Dan Hughes (10), whilst Harris was joined by Matthew Lewis (1 for 29), Neil Gregory (1 for 15) and Steffan Jenkins 1 for 26) as the other Cresselly wicket-takers.

Gritty comeback by Mackay’s Men

Stackpole (97 all out) beat Whitland 2nds (56 all out) by 41 runs

Umpires: Allan Hansen & Gareth Brace
Scorer: Jenny Davies-Scourfield (Whitland)

Gregg Sleep - six wickets as Whitland lose at StackpoleStackpole produced a fine come back after tea as they had only mustered 97 all out when asked to bat first by Whitland 2nds - but with skipper Richard Mackay and Ewan McDonald leading their bowling attack they got the visitors out even more cheaply to win by an unlikely margin of 41 runs.

Rob Mathias (13), George Smith (14) and Chris Gibbs (18) were the only Stackpole batsmen in double figures against the bowling of Greg Sleep, who returned fine figures of 6 for 29 alongside Connor Bowen (3 for 17) and Gethin Scourfield (1 for 21).

But Mackay (4 for 14) and McDonald (3 for 19) charged in with such effect that only Paul Oeppen (25) and Jack Bowen (14) ever looked remotely settled in the Whitland batting line-up as teenager Smith supported with 2 for 10 to help shoot them out for a paltry 56 runs.

Hook look good on The Racecourse

Haverfordwest 2nds (129 all out) lost to Hook (189 for 7) by 60 runs

Umpire: Robert Ridge
Scorer: Kelly Williams (Haverfordwest)

Hook’s potent mix of youth and experience paid dividends as they ran out comfortable winners over Haverfordwest Seconds after the match was reduced to 37 overs per side since a new wicket had to be cut on a damp Racecourse pitch.

Hook had a decent tally of 189 for 7 after batting first, with Jake Wicks batting well again for his top score of 58, assisted by Brad Flood (29) Jacob Lay (25), Callum James and Dave Hopkins (both undefeated on 22) - whilst the principal Haverfordwest Seconds' bowlers were Clive Tucker (3-42), Archie Thomas (2 for 49) and Chris Phillips (1 for 34).

George Thomas (34) and Ross Dewstowe (23) were the early Town batsmen to look comfortable before Evan Watts confirmed his talents with the bat as well as the ball, top scoring with 36 not out – but no-one else was able to stay long against Brennan Martin (4 for 27) and Hopkins (3 for 23) and Hook moved into joint second place as their reward for a deserved victory.

‘Evs’ helps ease Pembroke through

Llechryd (168 for 9) lost to Pembroke (169 for 6) by 4 wickets

Umpires: Dave Bonner & Rob Elliott
Scorer: Will Newell (Llechryd)

Andrew Hay - helped Pembroke win at Llechryd with bat and ballBarry Evans was once again the lynch-pin of Pembroke’s win at Llechryd as he provided the necessary steel in their batting line-up, with Andrew Hay’s all-round performance providing another plus to Jack Harries’s team's all-round strength.

Steve Smith has been in a rich vein of form recently and again led Llechryd's batting with eight fours and a six in his 62 runs, assisted by Graham Keen (30) and Adam Betts (29 not out) against the bowling of Jonathan Rogers (3 for 36), Rob Smythe (2 for 28), Andrew Hay (2 for 52) and Sam Davies (2 for 23).

But with Evans standing firm for his 62 runs alongside Andrew Hay (38), Jonathan Rogers (27) and Sam Davies (16 not out), Pembroke stand firmly in sixth place in the table.
