Special day out with the Pembrokeshire Federation of Angling Coaches
The Pembrokeshire Federation of Angling Coaches held their annual fishing experience for school children and adults with special needs at their superb Treffgarne Gorge fishing platform and good weather certainly added to a wonderful experience for those who took part.
Eric’s enchanted by the day
Organiser Eric Williams and his hardy band of coaches ensured that a great time was had by all and even managed to organise a few fish to be caught into the bargain.
“We have held the special day as part of ‘Fish Week’ celebrations in the county for anumber of years now,” said Eric, “and we simply want to share our love of angling, the countryside, river and its conservation with others.”
Brilliant pupils from Ysgol Bro Gwaun
The plan certainly succeeded because ladies who brought pupils from Ysgol Bro Gwaun said that it had been a wonderful experience for all involved, and one young man named George said that he hadn’t caught a fish yet but was sure that he would have one on his line before he went back to school!
Steve enjoys a stimulating day off
Steve Esmond, one of the stalwarts of the Pembrokeshire Angling Association, who had taken a day off to help the youngsters enjoy themselves, was equally delighted by the response as he told us,
“We are always keen to show groups of interested youngsters or adults what goes on with river angling on the Cleddau. We are always looking for support with conservation of the river banks and anyone who needs any further information need only look on our web-site
‘The Pembrokeshire Anglers Association and get in touch. You are guaranteed a warm welcome!”
