Hook 248 for 3 beat Whitland 234 for 5 by 14 runs

A beautiful evening, an good sized appreciative crowd, two young teams full of enthusiasm and talent and a tight finish. All the ingredients which make junior cricket so enjoyable and a match worthy of a semi-final.

Hook won through to a fifth consecutive under 11s final by securing a tight victory over an excellent Whitland team. Both teams showed great commitment and a high standard of cricket, where the bowlers were definitely on top. Hook batted first totalling 248. Liam Miller and Rhys Phelps scored 10 runs apiece, supported by Oscar Willington with 8 runs. Whitland produced an excellent team bowling and fielding performance. Charlie Bujega 2 for 15 and Cian Rees 1 for 6 were the wicket takers. On such a dry and fast field this looked a modest total.

However, in reply Whitland too found it hard to score as the Hook bowling and fielding was of a high standard, not a single wide bowled in 16 overs. Charlie Bujega top scored with 11 runs, supported by Daf James with an excellent 9 runs and 8 runs each for Jack Vaughan and Rhys Jones. For Hook Rhys Phelps, Ollie Rees, Oliver Haltam, Liam Miller and Oscar Willington all picked up a wicket each. Jack Thomas deserves a mention for a brilliant catch at cover.

An excellent closely contested match played in a great spirit. Well done to both teams.

Lawrenny restricted Narberth to 82 with the fielding and bowling tip top tonight. 

Pick of the bowlers were Noah Williams with 3 overs and 3 maidens & Rhydian  Eynon with 3 wickets !! 
Lawrenny then batted and comfortably passed the Narberth score  for the loss of 3 wickets in 14 overs.

Charlie Arthur top scored with 22 , Fin Lewis with 18 and Rhydian with 16. Connor Davies played a great supporting role with 5 not out and Ethan Hall hit the winning runs with a lovely shot for 4 .
