Liam Cullen and Evan Watts named for respective Wales squads


 
Liam Cullen - picked for Wales senior squadThere was some fantastic news for two Swansea City footballers who both have links with Pembrokeshire, have been named in their respective Wales squads for forthcoming internationals.
 
Firstly, Liam Cullen, who was brought up in Kilgetty, who attended Tenby Greenhill School has been named as part of Rob Page’s 28-man senior squad for the UEFA EURO 2024 play-off games, which start with Finland on Thursday, 21st March at the Cardiff City Stadium.
 
If Wales win then it would set them up with a final against the winners of the Estonia v Poland semi-final, the second game has been pencilled in for Tuesday, 26th March also at the Cardiff City Stadium.
 
Wales need two wins to guarantee a place in this summer’s UEFA EURO 2024 finals in Germany.

Evan Watts - goalkeeper picked for Wales Under 21 squadSecondly, goalkeeper Evan Watts, who was born and raised in Haverfordwest has been named by Matty Jones’ in Wales Under 21 squad qualifier against Lithuania and friendly with Morocco.


The first game of the window sees them take on Lithuania in their penultimate home qualifier at Rodney Parade in Newport on Friday 22 March (6pm).

A reduced squad will then make the trip to Antalya, Turkey as Jones’ side face Olympic Games bound Morocco Under 23 in a friendly on Tuesday 26 March (6pm).

Wales currently sit second in Group I after taking eight points from their opening five games of the qualifying campaign.
