Girls miss out out on finals
A team of lady cricketers from Ysgol Hafan y Môr in Tenby narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the Welsh Regional Finals of the England and Wales Kwik Cricket competition held at Radyr Cricket Club.
The talented youngsters were pipped at the post by eventual winners Rhiwbina in an absorbing semi-final that went down to the wire with just two balls of the game remaining.
They reached the semis after securing three victories in their group matches.
A team from Cleddau Reach VC Primary School also competed on the day. Both schools made the trip after coming top in the Pembrokeshire rounds at Cresselly and Haverfordwest.
Cleddau Reach were drawn against schools from Pontypool, Porthcawl, Brecon and Whitchurch and despite missing out on a place in the semi-finals the future for girls cricket in the school looks bright given they have such a young team.
Kwik Cricket is tailored for Children up to the age of 11 with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
