In the final game before the mid-season split it finished in a draw between Barry Town United and Haverfordwest County under lights at Jenner Park on a cold Tuesday night.

This draw ensured Barry Town United finished in the crucial sixth in the table spot whilst the Bluebirds were guaranteed third spot before they gained this hard fought point on the road.

The visitors scored the fastest goal of the season so far as Ben Ahmun struck the opener with only 20 seconds on the clock, however the hosts levelled matters in the 24th minute through Kayne McLaggon.

The Bluebirds opened the scoring with their very first attack. Dylan Rees’s ball over the top found Ben Ahmun who raced clear inside the box before the striker coolly struck the ball left footed past advancing goalkeeper Liam Armstrong.

Minutes later the visitors had a scare when Michael George struck a low cross across the face of goal before it found Patten who took a shot which flew narrowly wide.

The Bluebirds continued to press as skipper Rees’s shot from distance was comfortably gathered by Armstrong.

However, the hosts equalised midway through the first half as Evan Press' cheeky back heel fell invitingly inside the six yard box for Kayne McLaggon who found the back of Zac Jones’ net.

The visitors were unlucky not to regain the lead when Ahmun’s cross come shot was cleared off the goal line.

There was little goalmouth action in the second period as both teams were content they had done enough to earn their top six spots as the second phase of the season will get underway shortly.
