Ben Fawcett - was on target for Haverfordwest County at Caernarfon TownHaverfordwest County had to be content with a hard- fought draw against Caernarfon Town at The Oval.

Haverfordwest County made two changes from the team that drew at Penybont last time out, so in came Dylan Rees and Luke Tabone to the starting line up with Jacob Owen and Harri John selected on the bench.

The Bluebirds drew for the second time on the trot - and since the split they have picked up five points from a possible nine which manager Tony Pennock must be happy with as they sit third in the table, seven points clear of fourth-placed Cardiff Met.

The visitors opened the scoring in the ninth minute as Corey Shephard’s excellent cross-field ball fell to Ben Ahmun, who did well to stay on his feet as he neatly slipped the ball to co striker Ben Fawcett, whose first-time right-footed low drive flew in the bottom corner.

Minutes later a poor clearance by Canaries’ goalkeeper Ben Hughes fell to Greg Walters, who intelligently played in Ahmun, but the striker’s goal-bound shot was blocked.

The hosts equalised in the 25th minute when a swift counter-attack led to Louis Lloyd, who ran clear to deftly dinked the ball over the out-rushing Bluebirds’ goalkeeper Zac Jones.

Ahmun nearly put the visitors’ ahead as good work by the industrious Fawcett saw his cross frantically cleared but Ahmun didn’t get a strong enough touch from inside the six yard box as the ball fell agonisingly past the post.

Both teams created further chances but neither could take them as it finished all square.
