Haverfordwest County 0 – Connah’s Quay Nomads 0

Haverfordwest County were disappointed not to take the spoils against Connah’s Quay Nomads at LHP Stadium, Carmarthen.

The Bluebirds created the better chances but were left frustrated as The Nomads played their part in a goalless clash.

Haverfordwest County made two changes to the starting line-up which beat Bala Town; Rhys Abbruzzese starts for the first time this season also Ben Ahmun leads the line as Dan Hawkins takes his place on the bench.

The visitors were unlucky not to take the lead as Ben Maher’s clean strike from inside the box struck Zac Jones’s post.

At the other end Ben Fawcett’s shot from inside the area flew past the post, minutes later Dylan Rees went close before Corey Shephard struck from distance which keeper George Ratcliffe gathered.

From broken play Lee Jenkins struck from the edge of the 18 yard area which Ratcliffe comfortably dealt with.

Shortly after the interval Maher made good ground down the left before he squared to Rhys Hughes who curling effort flew past the target, minutes later former Bluebird Elliott Dugan, who came on as a substitute struck a tame shot at Jones.

Near the end of the tussle Fawcett struck an effort straight at Ratcliffe as both sides had to be content with a point apiece.

Shortly after the final whistle Tony Pennock remained in positive mood as he explained his team didn’t take their chances, but he was happy they kept a clean sheet and they are still sitting second in the table.
