Match One:

Pembroke Dock 102 for 1 (16) beat Llangwm 32 all out (0) by 69 runs

It was great to see Llangwm Ladies enter the league under coach Dom Asson and although they went down to defeat against a very experienced Pembroke Dock team their enthusiasm was evident and we at PembrokeshireSport.co.uk wish them a warm welcome and very enjoyable campaign where they are sure to improve and pick up points as the indoor season goes on.

The Dock had excellent knocks by  Katy Griffiths and Sian James before both retired and then found great support from Martha Bhari as Jess Maclean and Zoe Brick were the pick of the Llangwm bowlers as The Dock did well to reach three figures for the late loss of Rachel Sander.

Llangwm openers Pam Asson and Zoe Brick got Llangwm  off to a good start but then they lost wickets quickly to Abi Price, Martha Bhari and Katy Griffiths in only 3.5 overs – but will have learned a lot about pacing an innings in the process.

Pembroke Dock Innings: Katy Griffiths 26*, Sian James 26*, Martha Bhari 12*, Rachel Sander.
Llangwm Innings: Pam Asson 12, Zoe Brick 11, Abi Price 2-8, Martha Bhari 1-8, Katy Griffiths 2-2. 15

Match Two:

St Ishmaels  61 for 4 (13) beat Llangwm 60 for 2 (3) by 2 wickets

Llangwm showed an improvement in a short time as they played another strong team in St Ishmaels so that although they lost they actually conceded fewer wickets than Tish in a much closer tussle.

Batting first, Llangwm a really good innings from Zoe Brick before she retired, supported by Natalie White, who was not out at the finish as Tish bowling duo of  daughter Lola Phillips and mum Linzi Picton took a wicket apiece.

Ms Picton showed what a useful all-rounder she has become as she was joint top scorer alongside Leane Johnson and Ruby Woods became the first Llangwm bowler to take a wicket in the indoor league (well done Ruby)!

Tish took just 5.2 of their allotted eight overs to reach their target and effervescent coach Johnny ‘Bap’ Lewis will undoubtedly pleased with this winning start.

Llangwm Innings: Zoe Brick 26*, Natalie White 13*, Lola Phillips 1-21, Linzi Picton 1-11.
St Ishmaels Innings: Linzi Picton 17, Leanne Johnson 17, Ruby Wood 1-13

Match Three:

Hook 74 for 1 (13) beat Pembroke Dock 73 for 1 (1) by 5 wickets

Last season’s champions Hook again showed they are going to be a force to be reckoned with after Pembroke Dock had batted first and reached 73 for 1 – and then played really well keep things focussed in the Hook camp before they reached their target in only 5.3 overs and having lost just one wicket.

For The Dock there was more good batting from Sian James (retired) and Rachel Sander (undefeated at the end) and 19 from the extras section of the scorebook – with Tia Rees and Maisy Davies the pick of the Hook bowlers.

When Hook batted, they lost Katy Farr early to Martha Bhari but that brought together their two most experienced batters in Jemma Phillips and skipper Sam Rossiter, who took the score from 11 for 1 to a satisfactory conclusion before both retired just short of their target, with Jemma taking only 14 balls to reach that score and Sam stroking two fours as she faced only nine deliveries.

It was left to teenager Maddie Potter (a canny 6 not out in four balls) to guide them home in the final over after bowling really well earlier on.

Pembroke Dock Innings: Sian James 26*, Rachel Sander 19*,  Maddie Potter 2-17.
Hook Innings:  Jemma Phillips (27*, Sam Rossiter 25*, Martha Bhari 1-27.

Match Four:

Hook 71 for 4 (14) beat St Ishmaels  69 for 5 (3) by 2 wickets

Hook made it two wins out of two as they fended off a strong challenge from St Ishmaels, who batted first and had Rachel Maguire to thank for their final tally as she came in at No 5 after Tish had lost early wickets to run outs and then a wicket apiece for Maddie Potter and Freya Griffiths after Linzi Picton had chipped in with early runs but was then one of those early run outs.

Both Linzi and Rachel hit two boundaries but rock-solid bowling by Maisy Davies alongside Freya Griffiths, who added her second wicket kept their score to a level that was within Hook’s compass.

But Hook were suddenly under the cosh after making changes to their batting order and suddenly not looking comfortable after losing Maddie Potter first ball  against Rachel Maguire, Leanne Patterson and Tei Tallett so that only Tia Rees scored early runs.

However,  skipper Rossiter came in at No 4 and transformed the game with a four and two sixes as she reached 35 not out in only 15 deliveries and Imogen Williams faced two balls at the end as Hook won with three balls to spare

St Ishmaels Innings: Linzi Picton 13, Rachel Maguire 20*, Maddie Potter 1-9, Freya Griffiths (2 for 17).
Hook Innings: Tia Rees 16, Sam Rossiter 35*, Rachel Maguire 1-11, Lola Patterson 1-11, Tia Tallett 1-14.
