Young Volunteer of the Year was sponsored by
Pembrokeshire Youth and the finalists were Anna May, Caitlin Chapman and George Richards.
Anna May (Winner):
Anna May, a devoted volunteer at Haverfordwest Tennis Club and Outer Reef Surf School, has inspired students with her enthusiasm and dedication. At Haverfordwest Tennis Club she assists with summer camps and weekly training sessions, and has completed her LTA Leaders Course. At Outer Reef she sets up wetsuits and surf boards, assists shop customers and helps with lesson preparation. She also volunteers with both Exercise Buddies, a scheme to encourage people with an intellectual disability into physical activity, and Pembrokeshire Parkour, showcasing her wide-ranging commitment to sports and community.
Caitlin Chapman (Runner-Up):
Caitlin Chapman, an exemplary young volunteer, coaches Pembroke’s U12 and U14 netball teams. As a Gold Sports Ambassador at Ysgol Harri Tudur, she also promotes leadership and organizes school sports events. Caitlin’s eagerness to grow as a coach and umpire reflects her ambition and influence, inspiring the next generation of netball players. Her impact on the teams and her commitment make her a valuable contributor to her school and Pembroke Netball Club.
George Richards (Runner-Up):
Eleven-year-old George Richards has been a committed volunteer with Cresselly Cricket Club, dedicating countless hours to pitch maintenance and supporting game-day preparations. His enthusiasm for groundskeeping led him to attend three courses with Cricket Wales, where he was recognized as Junior Groundsman of the Year at Sophia Gardens. His efforts ensure the club’s grounds are game-ready, and his work ethic promises a bright future.
