Paul is unable to be with us this evening as he is representing Wales at the inter counties international in Solihul. He is represented tonight by Effie Griffiths junior player at Hook Short Mat Bowls.

 
Paul Hudson (Winner):
 
Paul Hudson has dedicated over 30 years to Hook Short Mat Bowls Club. This year he has managing the county team and organised the British County Championships at Heatherton. Committed to expanding youth involvement, Paul established a junior section, securing funding and launching family sessions. He now oversees regular family practices, inspiring younger players who join competitive matches alongside senior members. His dedication to community sport, fostering youth engagement, and advancing the county’s reputation in short mat bowls make him an exceptional ambassador.
 
Nick Shelmerdine (Runner-Up):
 
Nick Shelmerdine has transformed Lamphey Cricket Club from near closure to thriving success over the last decade. His tireless coaching and organizational skills have grown the club to include two senior teams and six junior sides, fostering a community where young players flourish.  Nick’s impact is visible as children fill the nets each summer, developing skills and confidence under his mentorship. His work has also led to an increase in qualified coaches. Nick’s vision, dedication, and passion have made Lamphey a model cricket club.

 
Nadine Tyrrell (Runner-Up):
 
Nadine Tyrrell’s vision for Haverfordwest Gymnastics Club has ensured the club has spurred hall expansion and equipment upgrades, allowing 45 additional gymnasts to join. Overseeing finances, memberships, and class placements, Nadine ensures a smooth operation while supporting both participants and coaches. Alongside her full-time role at Haverfordwest Library, she personally coaches developmental and preschool classes, championing the sport for Pembrokeshire’s youth. Her unwavering commitment, tireless work ethic, and passion have established her as a cornerstone of the club.
