Hakin United are crowned champions despite losing at Johnston
Hakin United celebrated winning the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division on Saturday.
The Vikings were presented the trophy by League Chairman Phil Devonald, after their game at Johnston, that they lost 2-0.
The result didn’t matter as the Vikings got their hands on the trophy that they last won in 2011, gifting proud manager Gary Dawes with his third title success since he took charge of them five years ago.
Joe John and an own goal earned the Tigers a consolation victory over the newly crowned champions at The Glebelands Ground.
The only other game played in the First Division finished in a 2-2 draw between Goodwick United and Tenby at Phoenix Park.
Rhys Dalling and Aled Davies scored goals that gave United a healthy lead, but the visitors rallied with goals from Billy Vaughan and Sam Christopher secured a point on the road.
