Heavy rain during the week played havoc with pitches around the county on Saturday.

Only two out of seven matches were played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division.

League leaders Goodwick United took advantage to go six points clear at the top of the table after comfortably beating Neyland 5-1 at the Athletic Ground.

Kieran O’Brien netted a brace alongside further goals by Anthony Couzens, Rob Morgans, and a debut goal for Steffan Williams who signed for the Phoenix Lads in midweek from Welsh Premier Haverfordwest County. The Nomads scored a late penalty through Justin ‘Skinny’ Harding following a handball incident.

Angle narrowly won 2-1 at home against Herbrandston in the only other game to take place in the top tier. The visitors led 1-0 at half time, but the homesters clawed their way back through a brace by Scott Richards to secure three important points for Angle who have moved 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

The top games that were called off due to waterlogged pitches were Johnston v West Dragons; Merlins Bridge v Hakin United; Narberth v St Clears; Pennar Robins v Carew; Tenby v Milford United.
