The Vikings are up and running for 2024

Disability Rugby News:

The Pembrokeshire Vikings had a great afternoon of mixed ability rugby  as they caught up up with their old friends the Port Talbot Panthers.

After a late pitch inspection due to frost, they eventually travelled up through the valley to the Glyncorrwg RFC after the bus nearly didn’t make it with the windy roads - and the team and coaches almost had to walk the last mile.

But the quality of the rugby played was well worth the challenging trip, to witness a hard-fought game .

The first half was evenly matched, but the Panthers were too strong in the second half for the Pembrokeshire Vikings and proved worthy winner by 32-12.

The Vikings’ scorers were experience ‘old timer’ Gethin Bateman and Ben Couceiro, who rightly earned the biggest cheer of the afternoon as he crossed the whitewash.

The Panthers’ try scorers were Ryan ‘Boom’ Davies , Josh Lynn , Benny Griffiths (2) , Jonathan Steggs and Dai ‘Bampi’ Stephens.
