Vikings try scorer is congratulatedPembrokeshire Vikings recently travelled to Cardiff to play Cardiff Chiefs at Llandaff RFC, and it was a new part of The Vikings’ short history with it being the first time the two teams had ever met.

The Vikings received a great welcome and the game was played in true mixed ability spirit, as both teams put on a masterclass of the game, going back and forth throughout an absorbing clash.

The Vikings lost skipper Callum Power after only 10 minutes, so they were forced into an early change with veterans Gethin Bateman reverting to centre and Andrew Meddings coming on at No 8.

The Chiefs came out winners 36-17 and the return game was already planned at The Observatory Field, the home of Milford Haven RFC, in the near future.

But it is great to report that everybody enjoyed the trip and the match, and in the final analysis rugby was the winner.
