Pembrokeshire Vikings 3 tries - Llanelli Warriors 3 tries
Pembrokeshire Vikings welcomed the Llanelli Warriors to the MHRFC Observatory Ground on a hot, sunny afternoon. First of all, The Vikings played the touch game and it was a very hard-fought evenly-matched game.
The result was three tries each, but rugby was the real winner, with lots of smiles at the end of the game.

Gethin guides Vikings to deserved victory
Pembrokeshire Vikings 22 - Llanelli Warriors 15
That was an excellent ‘warmer’ for the main game where the teams were competing for the Don Noott Memorial Cup, where The Vikings were winners last year, so the Llanelli Warriors arrived with revenge in their eyes.
Again, it was a very hard-fought game, with great skills on show; and everybody played well in the heat. Both teams had new players who had not played before in a competitive game. S and a special mention for Keiran Castle who was playing his first game ever and caught the eye because was all over the park with his tackling.
There were some big hits from Kyran Owens and veteran Gethin Bateman was his usual energetic self, putting in a great shift whilst pocketing a brace of tries. Shaun Treadwell had a successful debut for the Vikings and being voted Man of the Match.
Both sides put on a great display of Mixed Ability Rugby, watched by a great crowd of supporters as Rob Sweeney and John Joe McDonagh joined Gethin Bateman on the try sheet alongside a Callum Power conversion - and The Warriors’ try scorers were Matthew Miller, Keith Marshall and Dylan Williams.
