2025 Senior Cup Final - Match Officials - Pen Pics

Stefan Jenkins      Aged 40      Referee       Deputy Head Teacher

Stefan JenkinsĀ Stefan Jenkins selection for Pembrokeshire Football’s blue riband match is fitting reward for his ever-growing reputation, especially with players who recognise his quiet, but firm, control where he is clearly in charge but not in an over-bearing manner.

‘Jenks’ took up reffing after Covid and doesn’t regret finishing his playing days for a second because he thoroughly enjoys his new challenge after playing for Lawrenny as a youngster and then joining Carew as a ‘not the best striker’ they ever had but he enjoyed the banter there against his traditional rivals because he had one season there but has always been a Cresselly player, coach and official

He has played in no fewer that five Harrison-Allen Bowl Finals, winning three of them, and a few other Duggie Morris Finals as well. He has also done some great work coaching and been club secretary for quite a time – and is raring to be involved leading the youngsters in the third team again, after coaching Lawrenny Juniors in football.

He took charge of the second division cup final (when Johnston beat Monkton Swifts 2nds) and has also joined brother Sion on duty in a few Ardal League matches – and after being AR2 to brother Sion he was AR1 to Neill Crawshaw last season.

‘Jenks’ is a modest and unassuming sportsman and a very good referee – and we at PembrokeshireSport.co.uk wish him every success for the final!

Sion Jenkins                  Aged 36      Assistant Referee 1                 Teacher

Sion Jenkins Sion is one of the youngest referees to take charge of the final two seasons ago and his selection was recognition for the respect he already had from players and officials with his calm demeanor and ability to make decisions under pressure – and today he is back as Assistant Referee One to his big brother Stefan, which he is understandably delighted about.

He played first team football as a goalkeeper at Carew, when Mackie Harts was manager, and began his reffing career in December 2015 before another short spell as a player at Lawrenny.

Sion has reffed the fifth division and under 16s cup finals and as assistant referee for the West Wales Cup Final when Craig Templeton was in charge, and his growing reputation in West Wales was confirmed when he was in charge for the other semi-final.

He is also a keen cricketer as a fast bowler with Carew after a number of years at Cresselly and has played in a Harrison-Allen Bowl Final as well as winning a league championship medal.

Barry Evans         Aged 54      Assistant Referee 2        General Assistant, Tescos

Barry Evans ‘Evs’ is one of the genuine characters of Pembrokeshire Sport where he is known for his enjoyment of taking part but always alongside a bit of banter, especially in his summer sport of cricket, where he has created an impact at Carew and Pembroke.

He has appeared in several Harrison-Allen Bowl Finals and was even man of the match in one Alec Colley Final, to the delight of his pals on the boundary!

‘Evs’ also played football for Pembroke Borough in the Welsh League as a ‘slowish left midfielder’ and for Carew, where he started his refereeing career as a volunteer at third team games and decided he wanted to stay in football in this role.

He’s been a referee now for six years and would recommend it to other players just retired because he says it’s a great way to put something back into the game.
He was on the line for a Senior Cup semi-final this season and is looking forward to this year’s big day, where he can help a fellow cricket to have a great day in the middle.

Neill Crawshaw (Referee):

Neill Crawshaw Neill can certainly lay claim to being one of the fittest referees in our local game and at 48 is known for his ability to keep up with play and officiate in the calm, thoughtful and empathetic way that has been his way of being the man in the middle of hundreds of games after taking the referees’ course under the expert guidance of Dai Badger.

Neill had been in the army, in the Royal Corps of Signals, for 20 years and played lots of football there until he retired in his mid-30s – and that experience has certainly helped to shape his refereeing career.

He was assistant referee last season to Sion Jenkins, who is this year’s fourth official, something worthwhile that is now a tradition because he will be able to lend his experience and expertise as he will also officiate the bringing on of substitutes and letting the expected large crowd know how much time is added on at the end of each half.

Neil has already been in the man in the middle for the cup finals in divisions three, four and five in previous seasons, as well as the junior finals for under 13s, 14s, 15s and 16s – and was recently honoured with being in charge of the West Wales Under 15s Cup Final at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli, where he had the Pembrokeshire trio of Ioan Navett, Richard Gwyther and Keith McNiffe (fourth official) as the rest of this excellent Pembrokeshire quartet.

Having played football in the Army for years, Neill moved to coaching in junior football for a number of years before starting the refereeing journey in 2017. Neill was AR 1 in 2023 when Sion Jenkins was in charge of the Senior Cup final and then was in charge of the Senior Cup Final in 2024. Neill took charge in this year's semi-final between Hakin Utd & Pennar Robins AFC. Neill has maintained level 3A status for a number of years and continues to referee within Pembrokeshire, The West Wales Premier League (Tier 4) and the Ardal Southern League (Tier 3). Outside of football Neill is Head of Safety at a global Defence Company. Neill is also a keen Cricket Umpire and officiates indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
