Bethan bags a hat-trick as Hook stay unbeaten
Hook 86 for 0 (15) beat Burton 69 all out (1) by 17 runs

Matches between Hook and Burton are traditionally hard-fought and at the half-way stage of this latest tussle, Burton might have been reasonably satisfied that they had restricted the league champions and current leaders Hook to 86, albeit without loss, especially since they had conceded only four extras - but then Hook bowled well themselves and then found a secret weapon in 15 year old Bethan Chapman, who played for Neyland until that team ceased playing.
Bethan ended up with fantastic figures of 3 for 13 having grabbed a rare hat-trick which started when Jemma Phillips took a catch, followed by a caught & bowled herself and then the final Burton batter was clean bowled to end the innings with an over still left.
So well done Bethan!
Hook had batted first and accumulated runs by the experienced trio of Katy Farr, Jemma Phillips and skipper Sam Rossiter: all three retiring before Maisy Davies and Maddie Potter added a few late runs.
Burton responded with solid knocks by Finola Scale and Anna Ridge, alongside 14 extras but both departed alongside key batsman Becca Barton, run out without scoring, and Hook pouched a welcome 15 points to go ten points clear after all the teams in the league have now played four matches.
Hook Innings: Katy Farr 27*, Jemma Phillips 25*, Sam Rossiter 25*. Lucy Neale 1-17.
Burton Innings: Finola Scale 18, Anna Ridge 19, Extras 24. Jemma Phillips 1-19, Maddie Potter 1-23, Bethan Chapman 3-13.
Match One:
Whitland 82 for 2 (14) beat Llangwm 58 for 5 (1) by 24 runs

Whitland started their evening with a bang as they eased home with victory by 24 runs against Llangwm as both are beginning to settle into the competition but their totals were boosted by respective totals of 22 and 29 in the ‘extras’ column.
Fflur Davies again showed what an asset she is for Whitland as her speedy 27 before retiring was achieved in only SEVEN scoring shots, comprising a six, three fours and three threes.
Louise Laskey (13 not out) provided good support as Ruby Wood, Zoe and Daisy Brick were the pick of the Llangwm bowlers as Whitland scored 82 in their allotted eight overs.
Kelly and Ruby Wood then batted well for Llangwm before Kelly was run out and Ruby ran well between the wickets to record five threes but there was a wicket each for Fflur, Jude Roberts and Zoe Morris so that Llangwm were always a little behind the required run rate and finally missed out as a result because of the accuracy of Fflur Davies, Jude Roberts, Zoe Morris and especially Kelly Rogers.
Whitland Innings: Fflur Davies 27*, Louise Laskey 13*, Extras 29. Rugby Wood 0-2, Daisy Brick 0-18.
Llangwm Innings: Kelly Wood 12, Ruby Wood 17*, Extras 22. Kelly Rogers 2-10, Fflur Davies 1-20, Jude Roberts 1-12, Zoe Morris 1-13.
Match Two:
Whitland 51 for 4 (1) lost to Hook 53 for 3 (13) by 3 wickets
After their excellent opener to the evening Whitland inevitably found it hard going against Hook but again showed they are growing inexperience as they battled hard after batting first and having Fflur Davies and Louise Laskey again to the fore in their batting - but with no-one able to really push on as they eventually had to settle for 51 for 4 in their allotted overs, as 21 extras from the normally-accurate league leaders saw them there.
They found Maisy Davies in the impressive form that she is capable of as a former Welsh international and who was almost unplayable on the night, ably assisted by Jemma Phillips, Freya Griffiths and Maddie Potter.
Fflur Davies then struck early with the ball as she removed Jemma Phillips very early on and Hannah Legg shifted Maddie Potter soon afterwards but Katy Farr was again in good nick to bat through the innings, although Zoe Morris did manage the prize scalp of skipper Rossiter before Hook reached their target in only 5.4 overs, assisted by 17 extras.
Whitland Innings: Fflur Davies 12, Zoe Morris 13*, Extras 21. Maisy Davies 2-3, Jemma Phillips 1-7, Freya Griffiths 1-18.
Hook Innings: Katy Farr 23*, Sam Rossiter 12, Extras 17. Fflur Davies 1-11, Hannah Legg 1-10, Zoe Morris 1-8.
Match Three:
Llangwm 86 for 3 (3) lost to Burton 88 for 3 (13) by 3 wickets
Burton started their match with Llangwm as clear favourites and did eventually come out on top – but not before they were pushed all the way by a greatly- improved performance by Llangwm which saw Burton reached their target in their final over with a five and three to gain victory, but mightily relieved nonetheless!
Zoe Brick batted really well for Llangwm before retiring and there were double figures apiece from Pam Asson and Daisy Brick, with the ball continuing to swing and therefore hard to control throughout the evening as Burton conceded a very rare 30 extras.
Lucy Neale was the sole Burton wicket-taker as well as two run outs in a final Llangwm tally of 86 for 3, which we believe to be their highest score so far.
But Burton batted well via their regular run getters Finola Scale, Bronwen Scale and Lucy Neale, both of whom we not out as 21 extras helped them achieve their target despite good bowling by Katie Brock – in a game that all in attendance agreed showed local ladies’ indoor cricket in a very good light!
Llangwm Innings: Zoe Brick 26*, Pam Asson 12, Daisy Brick 12, Extras 30. Lucy Neale 1-17.
Burton Innings: Finola Scale 14, Bronwen Scale 26*, Lucy Neale 16*, Extras 21. Katie Brock 2-18.
